Who cares if he is tainted with corruption!
Who cares if he has the caliber or the energy to serve the people in the area!
As long as he is popular and can guarantee a win!!
Earlier the SUN reported that...
Muhyiddin said they had gone on the ground to assess the people's feeling on the BN candidate and "it looks like they wanted Isa".
He said Isa's candidacy was decided based on popular demand, and he believed that it was the right decision.
Hishammuddin also called Isa the “people’s candidate,” in an acknowledgement to polls which suggest the former Umno vice-president was very popular in Bagan Pinang despite being tainted by his corrupt past.
Is UMNO treating this by-election as a popularity contest ah?
If I am hearing this correctly from our DPM... UMNO chooses its candidates base on their popularity and not on the quality of the candidate, or how clean, worthy, integrity or the candidate's ability?!?
Wah like that I also can lah! Just bribe the majority group in the area with contracts and other goodies and become popular with them lah!
Opps! Isn't that what got Isa sack from UMNO in the first place?!?
Don't be surprise if this becomes his by-election campaign tactics! (i.e. bribe the voters there with the promise of goodies and development!)
The votes in Bagan Pinang should ask the question...
Why does it take the death of their former state rep before UMNO will come in to help them? What about before this by-election? How much attention did UMNO gave to them?
Also the voters in BP should ask if Isa is really the "people's choice" or is he "UMNO's people choice"! Would they really benefit from his election or will he only look out for his UMNO's gang!
Umno leaders will argue that Isa has already paid the price for being found guilty of greasing the palms of party delegates in the Umno elections five years ago. They will note that he has suffered enough as a political leper and point out that he took his punishment without much protest.
Others may even put a different spin on the second coming of Isa by saying that it shows what a forgiving political party Umno is.
BUT THE QUESTION IS, HAS DATUK ISA SAMAD TRUELY REPENTED OF HIS SINS?
What he said in the Sun newspaper may shead some light on this matter.
Just did not follow party election ethics?!?
The man calls coruption, "not following party election ethics!"
I really hope the people in Bagan Pinang are not as dumb as he is!!
