I wish they will make up their minds!

UMNO tells Malays that if opposition wins, then DAP will control PAS and they will loose their rights!

MCA tells non-Malays that if opposition wins, then PAS will control DAP and turn the country into an Islamic State!

WHICH IS WHICH LAH!

But Mahathir has already declared Malaysia as an Islamic State already! So why didn't MCA say something about it then?

On 29th September 2001, in his opening address during Gerakan’s 30th national delegates conference, the then Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed announced that Umno wishes to state loudly and clearly that Malaysia is already an Islamic country. This is based on the opinion of ulamaks (religious scholars) who had clarified what constitutes an Islamic country. If Malaysia is not an Islamic country because it does not implement the Hudud, then there are no Islamic countries in the world.

Almost 11 years ago, Tun Dr Mahathir said very loudly and clearly: Malaysia is already an Islamic country. Country, state, nation, nation-state, kingdom, republic, or whatever, it all means the same. The long and the short of it: Malaysia is already an Islamic country. That was what Tun Dr Mahathir announced almost 11 years ago.

So why is the MCA youth secretary-general, Chai Kim Sen, now announcing that DAP wants to help PAS set up an Islamic State? Malaysia, according to Tun Dr Mahathir, is already an Islamic state, country, nation, nation-state, or whatever. How can you turn an already Islamic State into an Islamic State? Aiyah, can you see how bad Chinese mother-tongue education can be? It makes idiots out of these Chinese politicians.

If Malaysia is not yet an Islamic State, contrary to what Tun Dr Mahathir said almost 11 years ago, why did MCA keep quiet then? Why did MCA not foam at the mouth and call Tun Dr Mahathir a liar 11 years ago? Why only now, 11 year later, make so much noise?

What the former Lord President, Tun Salleh Abas, said back in 2002 is another interesting point. The Barisan Nasional government trapped itself when it declared that Malaysia is an Islamic state, said Tun Salleh.

"The statement has trapped BN and Umno. If they think Malaysia is an Islamic country, then why do they object against PAS' attempt to implement Islamic laws? If this is an Islamic State they should support the implementation of Islamic laws," he told Malaysiakini in an exclusive interview. (Read the Malaysiakini interview below).

That’s right. If Malaysia is already an Islamic State then why whack PAS? How can you accuse PAS of trying to turn Malaysia into an Islamic State, with the help of DAP according to MCA, if Malaysia is already an Islamic State?

There appears to be some confusion here. Well, actually there is no confusion. It is just that the politicians are trying to confuse us. They are hoping that we are stupid just like them and that we will not detect the lies and spins in what they are saying. That is all it is: lies and spins.

Either Malaysia is already an Islamic State or it is not. If it is, then MCA is lying. If it is not, then Tun Dr Mahathir was lying. The bottom line is, one of the two were lying. So who is lying: Tun Dr Mahathir or MCA?

Anyway, why are the kafir from MCA talking about Islam? Isn’t Islam a matter for the Muslims to sort out? Did not the Crown Prince of Perak say a few days ago that there should not be any debate/argument on Islam? And that means the kafir from MCA as well. You mean to say that Muslims like me must not talk about Islam while thekafir laknat from MCA can talk about Islam? Where got road one?

MCA is making Islam sound like it is something bad. Islam, Communism, Al Qaedah, Taliban, Jews, Israel, the IRA, corruption, AIDS, gays, porn, prostitution, China Dolls, free sex…they are all put into the same box. Isn’t it time that Islam not be treated as the pariah of society? When you want to whack someone you say he or she is gay, immoral, corrupted, a prostitute, or an Islamist.

If MCA is so against Islam or an Islamic State then they should have spoken up 11 years ago. They should have either protested when Tun Dr Mahathir announced that Malaysia is already an Islamic State or they should have called him a liar.

The Islamic State issue is a basi issue lah! Most Malaysians no longer buy this argument. Most Malaysians no longer care a damn. Most Malaysians are not worried whether the government cuts off the hands of thieves when those who will lose their hands would be the corrupt police officers, civil servants and politicians from Barisan Nasional. In fact, most of the leaders and ex-leaders of MCA would be the ones walking around without hands.

Bring on Hudud. I have no problems with it. I do not steal the rakyat’s money. It is the politicians who do. I am even prepared to volunteer to do the hand chopping. Chop, chop, chop…I just love Hudud. Thieves and corrupt politicians beware.

This is what they do to robbers and corrupt officials/politicians in China

‘DAP will help PAS set up Islamic state’

DAP’s real agenda is to pave the way for PAS to establish a hardline Islamic state, MCA youth secretary-general Datuk Chai Kim Sen said.

He said the statement by DAP Youth chief Anthony Loke Siew Fook that Pakatan Rakyat could win 120 parliamentary seats in the coming general election to form the next federal government was in fact a cover for PAS to establish an Islamic state.

“It is an undisputable fact that should Pakatan Rakyat control Putrajaya, religion-based policies will follow soon after.

“PAS has already stated repeatedly that it will gradually implement Islamic policies once it has control over the Federal Government,” he said in a statement.

Chai said this is not the first time that the DAP has helped to boost support for PAS by hiding the truth.

He said the DAP’s plan to place Pakatan Rakyat in Putrajaya was actually an agenda to control the decision-making process to allow PAS to fulfil its ambitions of an Islamic state.

“DAP knows that should they control the Federal Government, Islamisation by PAS is inevitable, and the more they cover up the truth, the more the facts will be exposed,” he said. -- The Star, 5 April 2012

BN trapped itself with Islamic state declaration: Salleh Abas

The Barisan Nasional government trapped itself when it declared that Malaysia is an Islamic state, said former Lord President Tun Salleh Abas.

"The statement has trapped BN and Umno. If they think Malaysia is an Islamic country, then why do they object against PAS' attempt to implement Islamic laws? If this is an Islamic state they should support the implementation of Islamic laws," he told malaysiakini in an exclusive interview.

He said Umno put itself in a 'Catch-22' situation when Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced on Sept 29 last year that Malaysia is an Islamic state. "I think they got caught with the statement to counter DAP's claim that Malaysia is a secular country."

Asked if Malaysia is an Islamic or secular state, Salleh replied that the country was currently a secular state.

"At the moment, we live in a secular country. The Federal Constitution and the laws state clearly that we are living in a secular state.

"However, it is right to say that Malaysia is an Islamic country, population wise, because the majority of her citizens are Muslims. But it is wrong to say that we have an Islamic government," he said.

Army and Navy Veterans answer back our Defense Minister! With style!!!!

When Rear Admiral (Rtd) K Thanabalasingam ascended to the position of the nation's first ever local chief of Navy, it would have never crossed his mind that his loyalty to the country would be questioned.

Having spearheaded the Navy's mission to protect Malaysia from numerous threats that arose in the 1960s-1970s period, the former naval chief spoke in disbelief at Defence Minister Zahid Hamid's recent statement that patriotism among non-Malays was "not strong enough" for being reluctant to sign up with the Armed Forces.

NONE"I don't understand how such a statement came about... I've been through a lot, and I don't care who says it, it hurts me. I am a Malaysian born and bred, and I intend to die here," Thanabalasingam (left) said when contacted by Malaysiakini.

The 75-year-old veteran who retired in January 1977 after holding the top naval post for nine years and one month, stressed that there has never been a lack of patriotism among non-Malays in defending the nation from threats within, and without.

He recounted how they, along with their Malay brothers-in-arms, fought side-by-side regardless of whether they were in the navy, air force, army or police field force to push back the communist insurgency that spanned some three decades from the 1950s until it ended in 1989, and the perils they braved over the four years of the 1963-1966 Confrontation from Indonesia.

us navy frigate warship 030709 03"Even during the Confrontation, there was a lot of action in the Singapore Straits and Malacca Straits.

"At that time, two of my officers were awarded the PGB (Panglima Gagah Berani), which is the highest award for bravery, for blowing up KKOs (Indonesian Korps Komando Operasi) during an attack.

"One officer was an Indian who eventually retired as a commodore, and the other a Eurasian who also later retired as a commodore too.

"Why were they awarded PGBs? Because of their bravery in the line of duty," he said in driving home his point.

Zahid's barking up the wrong tree

NONERetired airman, Brig Gen (Rtd) Goh Seng Toh (right) was more severe in his rebuke of Zahid's statement, calling it "unfair, stupid and racist".

Goh, 65, said before anyone starts accusing non-Malays of being unwilling to serve the country in the military, the nation's leaders themselves should set an example if they insist on such talk.

"He's (Zahid) barking up the wrong tree... if you talk of patriotism, then I have one question; do any of our ministers have children in the Armed Forces?

"If not, then the same argument applies to them, so why only look at the Chinaman?

"I was shot at twice by communist terrorists in Betong at the Thai-Malaysia border. I nearly lost my life on more than one occasion, and I never chickened out. If anyone queries my patriotism, I get very angry," said the 35-year veteran.

All about being practical

Both men, however, agreed that the crux of the matter lies not in the loyalty of non-Malays to the country, but the challenge of surviving in the modern world.

military tentera askar soldier malaysia 260307 wataniahThanabalasingam stressed that far from being an issue of patriotism, what concerns non-Malays when it comes to enlisting in the Armed Forces is their career prospects should they choose to lay their lives on the line for the country.

He pointed out that public perception of the armed forces is mired in the notion that non-Malays, more often than not, are left behind when it comes to career advancement.

"Today people are more interested in careers. Gone are the days when you just join and follow orders.

"People want to see what's in it for them, can they raise a family, educate their children... they want to be able to raise their family comfortably instead of having to struggle to make ends meet

"If the conditions are correct, they will join. It has to be proven that they have got a good future and prospects, and there is no discrimination in promotions or selection for senior defence posts or special courses overseas," he said.

Goh went so far as to say that the Armed Forces have done nothing to disprove the perception of race being a key factor for advancement.

"There is an element of truth, unless you say all the Chinese who join the Armed Forces are sub-standard. But this cannot be true, because there are many good people, but they leave because they do not see their career path being very bright."

'You must be Malay'

military malaysia army tentera 131106 dress uniformGoh, who earned his one star in 1997 - three years before retirement - blamed the low ratio of non-Malay soldiers on the current make-up of the Armed Forces, the bulk made up of the Royal Malay Regiment.

"Not a single non-Malay can be part of it. No Chinese, Indians, Ibans, or any other can join these regiments. You must be Malay.

"I can't say exactly how many regiments there are, but assuming that they take up around 50 percent of our forces, that only leaves 50 percent open to multi-racial (participation), and this would only be for the services and supporting arms," he said.

No matter what the situation, however, Thanabalasingam said he believes that Malaysians will stand up and be counted among the country's defenders when needed, regardless of race or creed.

"If we had a war today, I would volunteer to do whatever I can, even with my condition with a walking stick... many would rally to the cause to defend the nation," he said.

Syed Hamid Open his mouth without using his brain!... again!

Mr Home Minister yesterday shot off his mouth AGAIN without thinking!
Malaysiakini reported that he said...."The people should not regard criminals as heroes and the police who enforce the law as demons,"

Basically Syed Hamid was shot because, as a lawyer he should have known that someone is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
That is the very basic and fundamental principle taught to you in law school.
So, to call someone a criminal before being charge and convicted in the court of law is very stupid...especially coming from the Home Minister!

Now for the interesting part!
It is always interesting to see how different newspaper reports it's news!

The home minister urged the public not to hail criminals as heroes and enforcement officers as demons for doing their job.

The people should not regard criminals as heroes and the police who enforce the law as demons, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said today.

The people should not regard criminals as heroes and the police who enforce the law as demons, Home Minister Syed Hamid Albar said today.
BUT
“We cannot portray a crime suspect as a hero and those enforcing the law as demons,” he said.
Is theStar the only newspaper that was acurate in its reporting or are they trying to help the Home Minister get out of a blunder he made!

I am starting to wonder who the Star editor is sleeping with!

More stupidity from the rear seat belt ruling

Rear seat belt ruling will not be enforced on foreign-registered vehicles, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat.
He said the Government has no plan now to impose the law on the vehicles as it would involve various complications.
Translation
Ah yah! Too difficult to get those foreign buggers to buckle up
and it is too much work to try to fine them
so just forget about it lah!
Nevermind their argument that lives can be safe with rear seat belt.....
Maybe most foreign cars are not like our lousy quality proton cars
and so no rear seat belt also cannot die in an accident lah!
Typical Malaysian Govt logic!
Malaysia Boleh lah!!

The insensitivity of our leaders to the Bukit Antarabangsa Disaster Victims!

A massive landslide at 4am on the 6th of December 2008, buried 14 bungalows and claim 4 lives in Taman Bukit Mewah and Taman Bukit Utama in Bukit Antarabangsa, Selangor.

The dead have been identified as veterinarian Dr N. Yogeswari, 40, accountant Ng Yee Ping, 30, and IT student Shaiful Khas Shaharuddin, 20. The fourth victim is Indonesian Surina, 30. The sole missing person is believed to be his security guard.

The landslide has cut off the access road to the residential area, trapping hundreds of people at Bukit Antarabangsa in Hulu Klang.

My most sincere condolences and sympathy to the victims of this tragedy!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now how does our leaders react to this disaster?!?!

Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi urged all state governments to consider stopping housing projects on high-risk hillsides for safety reasons.

“I am sure this will incur the wrath of individual land owners and developers, but enough is enough,” he told reporters after visiting the landslide-hit area yesterday afternoon.

"There are many highland areas in Selangor and the Federal Territory. We must make sure that the land in all these areas is firm and there should be no more problems relating to landslides.

"If there is a likelihood of a landslide, early action should be taken," he added.
(this is the most obvious statement I have ever heard!!)

I can't begin to know where to curse hearing such "intelligent" words from our out going PM!
After the tragedy happen then only you consider stopping these dangerous projects ah?!?!
Some more you are worried about making private land owners and developers angry ah?!?
People DIED because your administration was too busy entertaining corruptions and getting your pockets filled with money!!!
Then only after all these bad things happen then only you say we should stop these projects!!

FROM your statement, you knew about all these problems but did nothing or said anything about it!! Now that these disaster has happen you wanna act like the good guy and say all this projects should be stop ah?!?!? Sorry PM I DON'T BUY YOU (BS) RUBBISH!!!

How about you UP COMING PM?!?!

What was his response?!?

I TELL YOU IT WAS NO BETTER!!

Deputy Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak confirmed that the government would not be issuing any more permits for hillside developments following the landslide tragedy today.

Speaking at a press conference after visiting the affected area in Bukit Antarabangsa, he also urged developers to stop lobbying for building permits for hillside development projects.

He said urgent preventive measures must be taken to avoid any future hillside tragedies.

BASICALLY he said the same CRAP like his boss!!!

COMMON! We are intelligent people.
Both your response is nothing more that a Public Relation Stunt!!!
Not a word of sympathy or even apologetic about how badly your administration had managed the hill (due to corruption!). Just put the blame on others!!
Could not even have the guts to take responsibility of the issue!!! And you call yourself leaders!

Its no wonder Malaysia are indifferent to the authorities!!! One victim sum it up perfectly...!

Dr Benjamin George, who survived the Highlands Tower disaster, was not convinced that things would get better.

“In three months, the tractors will start work again. I have survived long enough to see all this nonsense repeated,” he said.

Is lowering your EPF contribution really good for you?!?

LOWERING the rate of employees’ contribution to the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) temporarily is part of the Government’s bag of tricks to rouse the economy.

This time around, an employee can reduce his EPF contribution from 11% of his salary to 8% for two years from Jan 1. The idea is to boost private consumption by putting more money in workers’ pockets.

Unlike the last two occasions, the next rate cut will be on a voluntary basis. The Government has estimated that RM4.8bil a year will be freed up for spending in the economy if all EPF contributors opt for the rate cut.

We are clear about the argument that
increasing workers’ disposable income is good for the economy.

BUT THE REAL QUESTION IS..."IS THE EPF CUT GOOD FOR THE WORKERS?!?"

The EPF has often said that for most workers, their savings are already insufficient to see them comfortably through their old age. There will even be less available when the contributions are reduced. Taking into consideration that at retirement age, the worker will find it more difficult to get a job,
it is better that he tries to manage with the present take home pay than to have less savings upon retirement.

Considering the cost of living has gone up and our purchasing power has been significantly reduced in recent times,
there is little this magical three percentage points can do for the individual per se.

And the most important thing is......... there is now a tax-free limit on EPF savings and insurance premiums amounting to RM8,000. If, by reducing our contributions, we go below the limit, it can also have implications on our tax bracket.

This means while it may look like we may have extra disposable income from the EPF cuts......what actually may happen is that
the govt will take back the extra income through taxing back your higher disposable income!!!

(Mark my words! Lets see if the govt will raise income tax rate next year!)

QUESTION OF THE DAY!
Is the goverment being sneaky about this lower EPF scheme!

Candlelight vigil turn violent thanks to Cops!

Malaysiakini Team Nov 9, 08 7:46pm
Riot police today dispersed about 300 people and arrested 24 people who had gathered at the Petaling Jaya Civic Centre.

The police moved into the crowd just as they were singing the national anthem and getting ready to leave. Before that they have heard short speeches from several politicians.
The crowd had walked over to the PJ Civic Centre shortly after 9.30pm after they had been originally dispersed from the Padang Timur, about a kilometre away, where they had gathered to take part in a candlelight vigil. Just as the crowd started re-gathering at the Civic Centre, a team of anti-riot squad and a water cannon truck had arrived. Shortly afterwards the police started dispersing the crowd using their shields. In the ensuing melee, police arrested PJ Utara member of parliament and DAP leader Tony Pua, Kampung Tunku state representative Lau Weng San and 22 others. Also arrested was Malaysiakini videographer Shukri Mohamad. (Please see link to see how violent the cops were at man handling our MPs!)

Family man Tony Pua treated like a common criminal!

"I was shooting the water cannon truck when a policeman told me to stop that. He ordered me to hand over the camera and tape. I turned and walked away when I was arrested," Shukri said when contacted.

Eyewitnesses said that Pua was physically manhandled and thrown into a waiting Black Maria. The police were also seen chasing the crowd into an Indian restaurant located opposite the Civic Centre.

Those arrested have been taken to the PJ police station. A small group of people have gathered outside in support of those arrested under the watchful eyes of a team of police anti-riot squad.

Earlier, at about 9.35pm, a candlelight vigil organised by polls reform group Bersih was hampered by police insistence on the gathered crowd to disperse. The vigil was to have started at 9.30pm at Padang Timur opposite Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya. However, the police had started blocking the roads leading to the venue as early as 7pm. And as the scheduled 9.30pm approached, the police urged the gathered crowd in the field to disperse. The crowd had then moved into the nearby Amcorp mall, engaged in a ‘wait-and-see' game with the police.

Among those in the crowd were recently court-released ISA detainee Raja Petra Kamaruddin, Selangor exco member Ronnie Liu and DAP leaders Lau Weng San and Pua. At about 9.30pm, the organisers told the crowd to disperse so as to avoid any trouble with the police. Some of the people then decided to hold a mini-procession from the field to the PJ Civic Centre, about a kilometre away.

Roads blocked Eyewitnesses told Malaysiakini that roads leading to the PJ field have earlier been blocked by the police from about 7pm. Some have complained that the roadblocks had stopped them from going to a famous fast-food outlet in the vicinity. Many had resorted to park their vehicles in PJ new town - some two-kilometres away -to walk to the field to take part in the vigil. At about 8pm, eye-witnesses said that about 100 people had gathered at the venue. The police meanwhile had began asking the crowd to leave the place. By 8.30pm - with only an hour away from the planned vigil - the police managed to turn away most of the people from the field. The crowd, by now around 200, moved closer to the Amcorp mall, waiting for the organisers to start the vigil.

At the same time, about 20 federal reserve unit personnel took position just outside the shopping mall. The candlelight vigil did not taken place as planned at 9.30pm. The field was totally deserted, with the crowd waiting in the mall for signs of a possible vigil. Tonight's vigil was to have featured speakers from both civil society groups and political parties. Bersih - or in full the Coalition for Clean and Fair Elections - organised the rally to call for electoral reform as well as the abolition of the ISA.A similar rally was also held in Ipoh tonight to commemorate the first anniversary of the Bersih rally in Kuala Lumpur last year.

That rally, attended by 350 people, proceeded without a hitch.
