Perak BN government is bent on destroying all people-friendly policies implemented by the previous Pakatan Rakyat administration.
When Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir took his office in February, he was reported as saying that BN would continue the people-friendly policies implemented during Pakatan’s 10-month rule.
However, this turned out to be a broken promise as about nine people-friendly policies have either been scrapped or put on the back-burner.
Here are the people-friendly policies which the BN Govt has scraped!
1. 3,000 applications from residents of new and planned villages to convert their land titles from leasehold to freehold cancelled.
2. 817 elected village headmen had their term of office terminated. The village chiefs have since filed a suit in the Ipoh High Court to be reinstated.
3. The proposal to change the octagon Yak Tack Seng market along Jalan Osbone into a tourist centre scrapped.
4. The uniform one-coupon parking system for vehicles, and at a discounted rate from April, for the whole state did not see daylight.
5. The proposed RM38 million new bus terminal at Meru Raya in Jelapang grounded.
6. The open-tender policy for approving government contracts, land and logging concessions reverted to the old system of closed tenders.
7. The giving state land to religious schools and Chinese independent schools also scrapped.
8. The policy of giving RM1,000 to the dependents of senior citizens who die too has been buried.
9. The process of legalising the 134 new villages put on hold.

Er excuse me. Lim Guan Eng uses selective tender system i.e. closed tender.
Remember ? Or you want me to show you the link ? It seems that he said open tender is more expensive that closed tender.
So, if DAP do such things, everyone silent. But if BN do it, everyone highlights it !
How about highlighting how few thousand villagers in Port Weld (Kuala Sepetang) receiving land titles from Barisan Nasional ?
I remember the village headmen being "reappointed" by Pakatan too when they came into power.
As for the octagon market, the idea of that place being a tourist attraction is not quite a good idea.
As for the other points listed, you have my support. I await and see what new policies Dr Zambry will bring in Perak.
I have read through Pakatan's policies and budget in Perak. All of them were too Chinese friendly. Seems like a populist policy to me to maintain support among the Chinese.
Amazingly, nothing has been done by Pakatan for the often claimed marginalized Indians.
So, a balance must be striked here.

One particular remark caught my attention. I would like to once again clarify that BN does not pay me a single cent to blog.
In fact, when I first started my blogging, I was against the Abdullah Administration and very much pro DAP. I was also a great supporter of M Kulasegaran and Lim Kit Siang.
I even received a personal copy of YB Lim's book called The Time Bomb.
Was I at that time paid by Lim Kit Siang ? You can work out the rationale.
Some of my pieces have also slammed Gerakan, a senior partner of BN. I was also unhappy with the "pendatang" comment by a suspended UMNO leader from Penang and even blogged about it.
If indeed I am paid by BN, they would have slapped me up and down by now for not being a good employee.
Never stoop so low to attack others who are not in line with your thoughts by using various defamatory remarks.
That is indeed one bad move and highly immature in a growing educated society.
