The untold story of TNB and Tariff Increase.

Some one point this out to me recently!

25 of May 2011 Datuk Seri Che Khalib Mohd Noh’s tenure as president and chief executive officer of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has been extended.

28 of May 2011 TNB shares falls because the govt delay the announcement of tariff increase!

30 of May 2011 TNB shares suspended!

31 of May (with the announcement by the government of the increase in tariff) TNB's share price closed 59 sen higher at RM7.11 with some 89 million shares changing hands.

Do some calculation here! 0.59 x 89Million shares is 52.5million! Someone made a killing profit of 52.5million in 1 freaking day!! An analysis said the shareholders may eventually gain over 100million ringgit! So who is the largest shareholder of TNB?

I google up the answer! And it turns out to be Khazanah National Berhad!

So who owns Khazanah National Berhad? The answer is the government!

This also means that Energy, Water and Green Technologies Minister Peter Chin telling the people of Malaysia that the “government is helpless in declassifying the PPA between the Independent Power Producers (IPPs) because it is a private agreement between 2 private organization is not exactly the truth!!

I hope the people of Malaysia will not be so stupid and buy into the crap that this increase in Tariff will help save the government money of help TNB. Oh by the way TNB operating profit for 2009 was 3.698billion and in 2010 it was 4.182billion

So how much money do they save with this increase in Tariff?

Oh and while I am at this I hope the Malaysian people don't fall for the crap that the government is increasing sugar to help us consume less sugar! Does the idiot ministers and mass media think the people of Malaysia are stupid??? Read here and here for the real reason for the increase in sugar!
